Review - Moonshot by Alessandra Torre

Baseball isn’t supposed to be a game of life and death…

The summer that Chase Stern entered my life, I was seventeen. The daughter of a legend, the Yankees were my family, their stadium my home, their dugout my workplace. My focus was on the game. Chase … he started out as a distraction. A distraction with sex appeal poured into every inch of his six foot frame. A distraction who played like a god and partied like a devil.

I tried to stay away. I couldn’t.
Then, the team started losing.
Women started dying.

And everything in my world broke apart.

My 5 Star Review

Sometimes you read a book that completely captivates you and makes you fall in love with reading again. Lately, I have been so busy and distracted with real life that reading has become a job. I am on a schedule and always feel behind, but when I picked up Moonshot I didn’t want to put it down for anything.

Ty Rollins is the daughter of a Yankee baseball player. Her mom died when she was seven and she went on the road with him. From that point on her life was all about being a Yankee and the family and community that all involved. So, I am not a baseball fan, but after reading this I want to be a Yankee fan too. I fell in love with Ty’s life and extended family. I loved the passion and pride she felt with the Yankees.

Right before her eighteen birthday Chase Stern, the bad boy of baseball is traded to the Yankees. He is running from a scandal himself and Ty is warned to stay away from him. From the moment he arrives there is a chemistry and connection between Ty and Chase. I was completely hooked, the little moments they shared had me begging for more.

From this point on the story really takes off and takes you on an unforgettable journey, that I will not go into to avoid spoiling this for anyone. Just know there is angst, tears, and an epic love that had me quickly flipping the page.

I loved this book, every single minute of it. Yes, there is a twist. No, I didn't see it coming. BUT this book is just so much more or maybe it’s all together great. I love when I read a book and feel a real connection or a love story that makes me swoon. Ty and Chase have this epic, transcending love and reading their story gave me huge feels. I am super close to my dad so seeing Ty and her dad’s relationship made me smile so big. The world Alessandra created made me want to never leave. I already want a Yankee jersey and to go to Yankee stadium to see them play, I know how crazy that sounds but that’s how much I fell into this story.

I absolutely recommend reading Moonshot! There is something about this story that makes you never want to leave the world behind.
