MY 5 STAR REVIEW

Let’s talk about book love, because I absolutely loved this book!

So this story starts out with a prologue that is ten years prior and it’s pretty gruesome. I immediately had a WTF moment, because I was legit lost with where this story was going. I don’t typically read blurbs and prefer to go into stories blind, so when I read this prologue I was wondering what I had signed up for.

Then the story introduces us to Shyann a reporter who is just starting out and was on the edge of her big break. The story is initially told from her POV and we see how in a moment her big break turned into an event that broke her. After an on-air incident, she is forced to return home to her father, brother, and the tiny town she couldn’t wait to escape.

We then meet Lucas, he is a laborer and artist working for Shyann’s dad’s construction company. He is quite, mysterious and attractive, but it doesn’t matter because the last thing Shyann needs is a reason to stay in Payson. This stay is a detour for her and she is working as fast as she can to move on again.

So there isn’t much to really say without completely giving away this book and I loved that I went in clueless, so no spoilers here. I will just say these characters completely owned me. I love a broken man and Lucas is the definition of broken. My heart wanted to help him so desperately and the more I read the more I was hooked! Shyann was equally fantastic. She was determined and fierce and I loved seeing her rise above at every turn. She was a fantastic heroine and I loved how she loved.

This is the perfect example of epic love, of love conquering all and I LOVE EPIC LOVE! If you only read a few books this year I recommend this one. It’s a love story of wondrous proportions but also has a mysterious side that leaves you guessing. Split was legit fantastic and a 2016 must read!
